What is Islamic Mediation?

Islamic mediation is an intricate process that combines three dimensions:

1)    Technical/Legal: Involves knowledge, skills, and experience in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and mediation itself.

 

2)    Empathetic: Based on the ability to see, understand, and share the feelings, emotions, and potential solutions with the conflicting parties.

 

3)    Islamic: Which relies on the Islamic belief system and pursues divine intervention into the dispute to move the parties from conflict to reconciliation, while applying Islamic ethics throughout the entire process, pre- and post-.
